Top Boston City Destinations

The city of Boston is as historic as it is modern, and once you get a whiff of both worlds, you will probably find yourself coming back to Boston again and again! There are many ways for you to enjoy what Boston has to offer, and here are just a few highlights of a typical sightseeing tour through this city.
Visit the downtown part of Boston, including Copley Square, the Prudential Building, and adjoining streets, where you can go shopping. Newbury Street, in particular, is famous for its quaint shops, where you can practically go into apartment-like buildings and spaces and go shopping for your favorite brands. You can also go into the modern Prudential Building and take in all the glass and sunlight as you browse through your favorite shops. Many of the shops in the Newbury Street area, however, are quite expensive, so be prepared to blow your budget.
If you’re into food and the quaint, older side of Boston, then go to Quincy Market. Located near the downtown areas of Boston, Quincy Market is home to food stalls, where you can get lobster, when it’s in season; jellybeans, which the kids will love; and the famous Boston Clam Chowder. Get clam chowder in a bowl made out of hollowed-out bread! You can also shop in the nearby stores and mall of Quincy Market.
Don’t forget Harvard and MIT! These top tier schools, located on the banks of the Charles River, are picturesque at any time of the year. These schools have been home to the nation’s finest scholars, and year after year, the campus itself is the hub of both students and tourists. Visit nearby Harvard Square for its shops, the campus itself for its historic architecture, and the Peabody Museum of Natural History for some great lessons in the living world!
Boston is also home to several major museums, including the Boston Aquarium, the Planetarium, and the Children’s Museum. Visit all these for a glimpse into another world, whether you’re looking for an experience under the sea, across the stars, or into the past, when you laughed and reveled in anything as a child. While you’re pursuing the arts, you should also try watching a ballet by the world famous Boston Ballet. For instance, they stage the Nutcracker at around Christmastime every year. You can also catch a game by the Celtics or the Red Sox!
These are only a few places that you can go to while visiting Boston. For more information, talk to friends or family who have been to Boston, and do a lot of research online. This way, you can make your trip to Boston a more memorable experience!
